In the Cultural Routes programme the special meaning of tourism supporting abjectives is comparatively new. Before developing the new resolution in 2007 historicl investigation, publications and international cultural-artistical as well as exchange projects were in the foreground.
The sustainable continuity of European Cultural Routes is now mainly depending on their tourism supporting capability.
The VIA REGIA is a road link from pre-trail times. That means the traditional infrastructure of the route is connected with short distances and slow cruising speed.
If we take this principle of "deceleration" as a basis three touristical fundamental values result for the VIA REGIA project:
- VIA REGIA-travelling is decelerated
pleasure- und experiential travelling. - VIA REGIA-journeys are expeditions
in the cultural space "Europe". - VIA REGIA-travelling is West-East/ East-West-experiential journey
