VIA REGIA Diploma for amateur radio operators
For promoting the activities of amateur radio operators along the historical road VIA REGIA the German
Amateur Radio Club – DARC – chapter Schöneck (F75) awards the Via-Regia-Diploma to all licenced amateur
radio operators and SWLs for proven contacts after January 1st, 2006 (the year of the recognition as “Cultural
Route of the Council of Europe”).
The diploma can be applied for on short wave or VHF. 100 points are necessary for the diploma.
Contacts with all eight countries are necessary on shortwave:
Every radio contact stands for 5 points. A radio contact with a radio station from the chapters Schöneck
(F75) or Nidderau (F31) counts as 10 points, a radio contact with a club station of either chapters counts as 20 points.
On VHF radio contacts with stations from the following federal states are required:
These federal states are located along the „Hohe Straße“, an ancient merchant route from Frankfurt to Leipzig as part
of the VIA REGIA. Every radio contact counts 5 points. A radio contact with a radio station from the chapters Schöneck (F75)
or Nidderau (F31) counts as 10 points, a radio contact with a club station of either chapters counts as 20 points. A contact
with a radio station from F75 or F31 is obligatory.
The diploma application together with the extract of the logbook can be send by email. There are no limitations concerning
radio band or operating mode. Every station can get points only once per band. EchoLink and relay contacts are permitted.
The diploma is for free and will be sent as pdf file. A printed version in DINA4 format can be purchased at net cost of
5 Euros. It will be delivered by mail.
